ParticipantHi there,
We could do with some help repairing our ISE 10 if there are any repairers in Fife, Scotland on here?
The problems started when the drum seemed to have a lot of movement during a wash cycle, occasionally banging the sides of the machine!
We had the details of a repairer that ISE sent out when the machine was nearly new in 2011 and he came out to have a look. He said that the shock absorbers had gone and needed replacement. He has been in poor health and unable to come back out to carry out the required repair.
He did did say it was ok to continue to use the machine for the timebeing, although, goes against the grain as it makes a hell of a racket and continued use must be damaging the other components as well.
Recently, we’ve noticed tiny holes appearing in washing and I checked the articles on this website for possible causes. There does seem to have been some drum damage at the lip where the rotating drum meets the door (see photo). There is some heavy scoring at this point which may be responsible for the clothes damage as it feels sharp when I run my fingers over it.
Would the drum need replaced? I was wondering if some careful filing would be a good or a bad idea!
Cheers,
Euan.

not done a lot of ise repairs but drum damage does not normally go with shock failure

Is it ok to gently file any sharp edges away or is that a bad idea?
Also, anyone know of a good repairer in my area?
Thanks,
Euan.

It shouldn’t be a problem to do that.
