KeymasterThree years I’m afraid if it’s multi-occupancy. 😕
Still better than Miele though. 😉

Have just ordered one for a small nursing home, I assume the guarantee is the same?

well it turns out that it wasn’t a small nursing home, it was his own house which he runs as a ‘day centre’ at weekends for a couple of disabled kids.
I presume he gets the full 10 years guarantee for that?May 14, 2010 at 4:42 pm #317887kwatt
KeymasterNope, on commercial premises of any kind it will only be three years regardless of the stated use.
Many reasons for it but, basically, they tend not too be treated as well in almost every instance.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10 in multi occupancy building.
Just to clarify Ken, It’s two elderly people in thier own home (normal house, nothing built on etc) who take in a couple of disabled adults at weekends in their spare rooms. It’s not a massive house and I dont expect it would get anymore use than a young family with a couple of kids. The disabled adults have learning difficulties from what I can gather so they wouldn’t be allowed to use the machine at all.
Tbh, if they hadn’t have said anything to me I would have thought that it was (as it is) just an ordinary house. There is nothing commercial about it, I think they just wanted to emphasise that they wanted something that would last.

KeymasterRe: ISE 10 in multi occupancy building.
The problem won’t be the use as such, it’s who’s using it.
On installs like that you often have multiple users, carers, that quite often don’t give a monkey’s and/or don’t know how to use the machine and that gives issues.
That’s why there’s a blanket rule on that sort of use.
