Just sold my first ISE10. 😀 I unpacked it to familiarize myself with the transit bolts and controls. Nice…… 8)
I put it on a spin cycle and noticed a slight knocking noise as it spun. The knock was similar to the noise that a damaged belt makes as it runs over the motor pulley, ie:- one noise every turn of the drum. Hotpoint belts used to do this after a bearing failure, caused by stress on one part of the belt.
I realize the machine was still transit strapped so it’ll be quieter when unbolted. But is a slight knock normal? It goes out tomorrow so just want to be sure.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    Re: ISE 10 noise.

The knocking I expect is due to the transit bolts being in it.

Once they’re out and the machine runs as normal it’s actually pretty quiet TBH, certainly not intrusive IMO but then sound is a subjective thing as I know well from my dabbling in hi-fi. 😉

I have run one with the straps in and it is noisy when you do.

    I’d expect it’s fine Steve,

I have to say though David and I installed another one the other day, goodness knows how many now, and it’s a seriously nice machine to put in as they just work. You don’t get any stupid questions, complaints or much of anything bar praise for the 10’s.

I just can’t see past them, they’re brilliant things and customers love them.

    Cheers, Ken.
Ahh, thought that might be the reason. But as I hadn’t heard one run before, I thought I’d better check with the Oracle. 😉
Can you book me another ISE10 please and some more brochures? Sales picking up here as most of my leads are now coming to fruition. 😀

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    Re: ISE 10 noise.

    Yeah, no probs.

Although we are running short on 10’s. 🙁

Well, actually it should be… 😀

The damn things sell themselves, when people actually understand what they are and what they do as well as the value for money that they are. The message may not be getting through to everyone, but it is getting to a lot of people it would appear and the number of the 10’s going out has surprised us, a lot.

We’re trying to get production slots pulled forward as we’ve exceeded initial targets by about 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on 10’s. You’d think we’d learn!

That’s the reason we’ve not had the dishwashers as, well, we have eaten up our production slots with washers and dryers.

But there’s some good news here, we’ve what is called “commercialised” the 10 vented dryers for delivery in November and they are superb machines as well. We were getting hassled about them.

We were looking for a 5 dryer going into dryer season, but in all honesty, there was nothing that we were happy with completely, they were all a compromise. Too far or not is open to debate. I doubt we’ll have a 5 dryer soon, but there is a lead that we’re chasing. 😉

    Re: ISE 10 noise.

The very first ISE 10 I saw and heard at Sibson did have that very same belt noise. Its just due to the belt having been in one position for a while. As soon as the machine has warmed up and been used then the noise disappears.

Belt……… First proper wash load will get rid of it.
