ParticipantWould like to get more information on the ISE 10 and local suppliers.
1. When will it be available and what are the exact specifications ?
2. Where can I get some results of any test carried out on the machine (like “typical family use”) so as to be able to feel confident in it’s reliability
3. How do I find out about local suppliers – live in S053 – there don’t seem to be any.many local independent suppliers. Am glad something like the this machine is being developed but am concerned that there will not be enough local dealers to help with any problems if the machine becomes popular.
4. What are the terms and conditions of the 10 year labour/parts agreement and when would the machine not be covered by it ?
5. What costs (if any) will I need to pay if something goes wrong in the 10 year period and can “typical” examples be shown (i.e. bearing will cost £ 0 or £ 40 within the period + labour charge to fix it will be what ?
6. Wherre I can get spares for the machine and will they be available in even 5 years time ?Sorry for all the questions but am sure if they get answered if will be useful for everyone.

Hi kwiatks,
Please bear in mind the time of night, the fact that I’m tired and that all this is from memory as all the “hard” information is in the office. But yo take this point by point…
kwiatks wrote:1. When will it be available and what are the exact specifications ?
If the delivery company keep their promise ISE-10 will be available late this month of very early next depending on the time clearing customs etc.
Exact specification is lengthy but the highlights are as follows:
10 year warranty
1600rpm spin
6Kg load
AAA performance
Intuitive control
Approx 1 hour 15 mins for a full cotton 40C wash, a real one
35 mins quick wash
Leak protection
Auto water levelAnd loads more I have probably missed.

Every component is tested to have an endurance of 8000 cycles, if you do the math that equates to over 21 years of one cycle a day.
Every machine is wet tested before leaving Sweden, they are not batch tested.
Experience with this machine design shows that lifespans in excess of 20 years is the norm, not the exception. The frame and case have over 20 years of history although they have undergone minor enhancements over the years the basic design and build is extremely well proven.

That I would have to check for you but I do know that most UK postcodes are covered.
kwiatks wrote:4. What are the terms and conditions of the 10 year labour/parts agreement and when would the machine not be covered by it ?
None, it only excludes the usual user error and abuse.
kwiatks wrote:5. What costs (if any) will I need to pay if something goes wrong in the 10 year period and can “typical” examples be shown (i.e. bearing will cost £ 0 or £ 40 within the period + labour charge to fix it will be what ?
See above. No component failure would not be covered if there is no error or abuse.
Labour charges in the eventuality of either would be dependent on the agent but I would expect £40-60 in labour normally. The chances of it happening however are slim.
kwiatks wrote:6. Wherre I can get spares for the machine and will they be available in even 5 years time ?
We will supply any spares required and we do not make money in selling these. Spares will also be available from the agents.
Yes, spares will be available and stocked in the UK as well as a backup stock held in Kilmarnock head office. We already hold small stocks for the machine.

No problem at all, if you need any more information please ask.

Kwatt, Forgive my ignorance here but I wanted to ask, if the ISE10 is made by Asko? According to Asko’s web site they are owned by Antonio Merloni, are they the same mularchy that own the Merl-Tin-Pot company that is responsible for my shoddy Creda Cooker?
Confused?

Different Merloni, same family.
Asko are left to their own devices though pretty much as they are in a different market totally to the usual fare and the machine is totally different in almost every way to the other Antonio Merloni machines.
The Indesit Company, formerly Merloni, are a different company.

So how do I find a local ISE10 approved installer and how do I know they will be around in the future ? Once installed by the ISE10 installer will any local dealer be able to service it if the original one is not around or busy ?

Hi kwiatks,
There are agents in Winchester, Salsbury and also one based on the Isle of Wight who could all cover the area. Obviously no-one has stock yet or will have until the end of the month.

I tried http://www.iseappliances.co.uk/ but can’t find the Winchester / Salsbury dealers – I did “How do I get One>” -> “South East”. Please help my naming the supplier on how to use the web site. Am very keen to get the ISE10 or details about it (have fixed my machine now – changed the bearings and all seems OK so far !!! – but just in case would like to get in touch with the local dealers)

Hi Kwiatks,
It’s one of those things that, the way the search been by the developer, isn’t exactly ideal. We would have preferred a postcode search, but alas it didn’t quite go the way we quite thought it would. On the next site revamp it will be rectified.
If you drop a line to admin@iseappliances.co.uk David in the office will reply and give you details of the local agents.
Hope that helps.
