ParticipantHi Guys
I am sure this has been mentioned but cant seem to find it in the search.
I have a couple of these with stiff door on closing, both are in a garage / utility so a bit cold, could this have an effect?
Any suggestions on making it a bit easier, is it worth greasing it slightly?
Cheers

Yep.
The best cure (kudos to Mark Garner and John McAtee for the tip) is to put a smear of vaseline (it works best) on both the door pecker and the door lock hole/receiver.
In 99.99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cases this cures any complaint about stiff locks or difficulty in closing the door.

Having put vasoline in lock, not sure if it had time to do job but lock still sticking after the last wash, does not drop away to allow you to close door for next load, have to just put a flat screw driver in hole to push lock down before using again.
Any other suggestion???

Not really, you get the odd one that needs a new door lock but the need for that has been rare IME.
Any I’ve come across I’ve reset the lock, greased it, told them to stop slamming the door shut and never heard from them again.

What prevents the door lock resetting after it has finished the program and de energised door?
Have checked the pull cable release seems ok
This one is only a few weeks old will check if door has been slammed!
Would this have caused some damage to the lock?
Typical that you recommend a product sing its praises and this happens :rolls: Always the way!!

KeymasterRe: ISE 10 stiff lock
Slamming the door shut causes the lock to get thrown out very slightly, it’s just the force that does it, so it doesn’t open or close correctly as it sticks in the slide. Greasing it helps to stop that happening. And yes, this can damage the lock if they get nasty with it.

Just had a customer ring with a complaint that she cannot open door at end of cycle.
Any previous on this fault, will lubrication be a possible answer?
Machine was only installed on the 11th December 2009.

KeymasterPossibly Jim or, it may just need the door cord pulled to reset the lock.

Just spoken to her on the phone, she says that recently it has stopped opening automatically at the end of the cycle.
She is using simply by Aquados, putting two tablets in. I have advised her to try using a single tablet just in case it is an over soaping issue, will see how it goes. 🙂

easy for the customer to do accidently by holding the door button down for too long.
