ParticipantInterested to know what other suppliers failure rates are for the 2’s and 5’s (not including the 10’s as obviously a class above the others).
We have installed less than 50 and have had 5 failures all on door interlock failures (two failed on first fit/ installation)
Currently running at +10 per cent failure rate.
Of course this does not include customer faults, out of balance loads, blockages, customer education/ abuse etc.

Take out the “customer is a numpty” ones and it’s actually very low, less that ~6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
That said there were a few QA issues on the last batch of 5’s which the factory has acknowledged and are working to put right after we had a dig about it.

ParticipantHi Ken any chance of getting a few of the door interlocks to keep as stock so we can complete these jobs first time.

Yeah.
One small snag… we’re waiting on a load from Turkey as we’ve exhausted what we had although, good news, one shipment of spares is due in a few days.
The bad news is that there isn’t a huge amount on there, bearing in mind that this pickle of parts was ordered some eight weeks or so ago.
Whilst the failure rates haven’t been what could be considered to be excessive it would appear that these are a particular troublesome area. Due to us kicking off about it the factory has conceded that we have a point and are going to send us a load more locks as well as a few PCBs. More good news is that they are trying to get these over to us a lot faster.
Still more good news is that the door lock currently being used will be replaced although I haven’t a date when that will happen as yet.
All I can do is apologise for the stock outs, we never expected to have this issue as we’d not really had much of any problems up until recently and it caught us off guard a little. Of course it’s always the bits you don’t expect to need that you end up needing, it’s just the way of things.
Added to which we’ve moved all the spares distribution to Kilmarnock and that’s still in the process of coming right.
It’s all good fun… or so they tell me. :rolls:

P45 has twigged that the Hoptoint WMA/WF interlock is interchangeable with the Vestel supplied door lock.
I am going to try one on Friday on an ISE 2, one that has had the door lock changed already without success.

I THNK its the same manufacturer of lock, Metaflex, but I don’t think it’s the same lock.
Thankfully I don’t see to many Hotpoints. 😉

The connections come out from the bottom instead of the top but our feathered friend assures me they will fit. As I carry 5 or 6 of these its worth a punt.

ParticipantHi Guys,
The container containing the Vestel parts (6 pallets of them) got into Leeds today and will be with Ken and David by the middle of next week.
There has been a recent run on door interlocks on Vestel made machines for a number of companies ourselves included and I was informed yesterday that from the new year all ISE 2 and 5s will have different interlocks on them (this will be on stock we receive from after 17th January) – Read into that what you like, you can guess what my take is on it.
Cheers
John

Tried a wma interlock twice now and the door is a pig to open. Are they not such a good fit or is it me?

I had this with a genuine hotpoint one but the pattern ones seem to have a slightly larger hole.

Seem to remember that the one I used without any problems was a pattern one.

ParticipantYes I used a pattern one on Saturday, Masterpart part no: HP62103. Fitted in easily and door opens as required.

Don’t use the one Connect supply – cream coloured Metalflex interlock. I fitted one to an ISE 2 and the door was jammed shut. I eventually had to smash the interlock to get the door open. 👿
Fitted a new one supplied by ISE – perfect!!Steve.
