ParticipantI tried the method in the manual but it didn’t seem to work. (hold down rinse button IIRC). It states this is for the ISE 2……. 😕
How do you do it on the “5”?Steve.

Never actually tried to set it but reading the manual carefully would suggest that the childlock can only be activated after a programme is selected to prevent the selected programme being altered by little Johnny, as opposed to stopping the little blighter starting it in the first place.
There are a couple of references to the ISE2 in the ISE5 manual, it may be a typo.
It then has to be deactivated before another programme can be set.
Of course I could be talking complete b*****ks. 😀
Most if not all other machines that I have seen allow the child lock to be activated before any programme is selected. I will have to try it the next chance I get. 🙂

Embarrassingly, I can’t remember and I wrote the damn manual! 😳
Trouble is that, as with most things you write, you don’t read them after the job is done.
IIRC though Jim is correct, the child lock can only be set after the program is selected locking out any alteration but I’d have to study it again to be definitive.

I did intend to edit my post last night but the site went down at 10.13pm.
The ISE2 childlock also appears to be activated after programme selection, this time by pressing Start/Pause button for two seconds.

Well it has been said before that the best childproof locks keep the adults out……. 😀
It would be nice to know for future reference. Maybe the method for all the machines should posted as a sticky? ATM, I would have to unbox a machine to sus it out as the ISE 2 lock procedure of holding the ‘Start / Pause’ button down would switch an ISE 5 to ‘End’ and cancel the program.Steve.

Any further thoughts on this? Another customer asked me and I blagged it – for the moment. She’s gonna ring me……. 😕
