ModeratorAnyone else had this complaint?
This customer rang me a month ago to say that the machine was putting small holes in certain items of clothing.
I advised her to avoid spinning anything delicate at the full 1600 spin speed. She has now rung back to say that holes are still appearing even when the clothes are spun at 800 rpm.
Calling to this tomorrow to check for anything obvious such as foreign bodies in outer drum but she says it is not making any noise that something like a bra wire would cause. 😕

KeymasterNope.
Only thing I can think of is overloading as it’s not been an issue.

I will take some pictures . Damage caused by overloading usually looks different to any caused by bra wires and the like. you can often see signs of it on the door seal as well.
Watch this space.

I have an article on this here Holes in washing (laundry)
It’s got 141 comments on it so far. I’m not suggesting there’s necessarily anything there that you don’t already know but as far as I know it covers all possible known causes of holes in clothes and could be useful. One possible explanation that’s surfaced from comments is granite worktops causing small holes in the front of t shirts.

Had a call recently to a complaint of tearing clothes.
(Not ISE)
Did all the usual checks on the drum. No obvious faults.
Then did the Hercules Poirot on the clothes and found that all the damage was on the front of the garments and as no washing machine could be so selective in how it chews clothes then the damage was caused elsewhere. :lesson:Steve.

Steve, that problem is covered in depth on the article and comments I linked to.
