Sorry I put this in the wrong section,
the foaming is with the customers favorite Tablets, Bold.
It fills the drum and overflows through the draw
any ideas Please, we tried liquid and this solves the problem but the customer insists she wants to use her favorite powder

The simple answer is to keep reducing the amount of detergent until it stops oversoaping. Just tell her how much she will be saving on detergent. 😉

I have had customers who have had to use 3/4 of a tablet to prevent this. Sometimes removal of the eco ball can also help.

Mainly a soft water area problem.

I squandered a Sunday afternoon investigating this with a customer. Day to day laundry (mixed clothes) was absolutely fine. The problems with foaming arose specifically with towel loads. Continual mild overdosing, combined with the dose on a large towels load produced lots of foam. I belive that the rolling folding action of large areas of fabric acted as a bellows, trapping soap and blowing bubbles on a grand scale.

Needless to say, North Leeds is a soft water area. Drastic reduction of dosage for towels load did the trick.

The ISE machine does not have a traditional type pressure switch, in so much that it works on frequency not directly from air pressure so it may be neccessary to replace the ball in the sump hose to prevent other spurious faults from developing.

Going on the above I would suggest just the detergent reduction.

Thats great thanks alot but it seems strange that she didn’t get it with her old machine it’s only happened with the ISE5 how do I explain that to the customer

Lower water levels on newer machines means longer agitation to get the same results so that means that an overfoam is more likely to happen.

    Re: ISE 5 Foaming

I had the very same problem with a CI555WH where excessive foam was an issue. The customer was using Fairy Powder in this case, she was concerned that she never had this problem with her old machine !

The remedy was to use only a quarter of the poweder she had been using and like K says, lower water wash levels, longer agitation times = high foam issues.

I dont think that this is exclusive to the ISE machine either.
