We ‘ve had an ISE 5 washer since Nov 2006 , and all has gone well till this week. thank god for the 5 year warranty.

THe motor fell off and shed the drive belt.. and a hole has appeared in the drum causing a major flood.

According to the repair man it won’t be sorted very quick, and is a common problem with the lower drum section being plastic.

It didn’t have an leaks prior to the motor problem so logic would suggect this may have caused the hole.

Just been looking for an extended warranty for this, so will definately do one now. at 2 years the ISE hasn’t even got the age of the old zanussi it replaced. that did manage about 5 years before having its first problem.

    Any comments peeps !!!

    Hi Chris,

Ah, so that’s what happened to it then.

To be honest, it’s a machine and, as such, it has the potential to break just as any machine does irrespective of how well you build them.

However if we know about it then the parts have already been dispatched as we have no orders outstanding for those parts and any that came in over the weekend or Monday are cleared and probably already delivered. So I don’t understand why a repair would take time as you imply.

Did you not get the full five year parts and labour warranty, or was it just the parts warranty option you took?

    Hi thanks for the reply,

Typically the ISE died on a wednesday evening and we could not get a visit til last monday. and as of this moment it still lying in the washhouse, and we’ve had no comms about it. rang yesterday PM and it seems the retailer has made the order for the parts.

The repair man did mention a possiblilty of a temporary machine while the repair is being done ?, really need it now ? but so far my dear wife has to drive 8 miles round trip to use our daughters machine at present .
with all the associated earbashing 😉

And yup we have got the full 5 years warranty, my mention of the extendedwarranty was to take it up to 10 years if possible , based on the present experience.

    take care

Well after our major repair in JAN 09 all has been well .. until today.

the ISE5 just stopped in mid program and won’t go any further.
Powered off for a while ..
switch on it pumps for a few seconds and then stops.
    this can be repeated infinitum.

Sits with start and wash LEDs illumintated.

Apart from powereing off for a while is there any else we can do before
    getting the MAN in !.

Still well inside it 5 years warranty.

    thanks

Chris ( he who’s getting the earache!!) 😉

Switch OFF, set the control knob to DRAIN, switch ON, press and hold the Start/Pause/Cancel button. If it then switches on the spin light and starts to pump then press and hold it again until all the lights go out.

Switch off and allow the door to unlock. Then try it again.

    This should reset the controls.

    Hi Ceedy,

Can you drop the details to service@iseappliances.co.uk and we’ll see what can be done to resolve the issue.

Obviously there’s not a lot that can be done today and, no doubt, tomorrow will be incredibly busy as it always is after a bank holiday but I’ll see what I can find out.

    Latest..

Repair man came almost straight away, so can’t really fault them.

Diagnosis…. Original fault of just not working, was jammed brush in the motor.

latest problem …..Not heating up.. duff element..
it looks ok with minmal scale, and had away be regularly “kalgoned”.

Water leak, split in the door seal.

All common problems, but why ??.

just another wait for the new seal.

Still using our daughters washer. a few miles away, a real pain.

Also according to our repair man the ISE should ?? flash leds to report
error codes, it this correct as ours just does nothing.

    regards

Monday … Still no part. supposedly tomorrow, it only a Door seal, why dosen’t an ISE dealer carry basic spares ???, they had the heating element
    on the van .

O well .. seems about 2 week turnaround for any repair on this .

Oh I’ve got a sore ear !!! from SWmBO

    Still no email.

It’s hard to track if we don’t know what we’re tracking. 😉

All the spares are in stock in the UK so there should be a 24/48 hour turnaround.

All resolved now , took a while , didn’t send any email as we couldn’t get the info from the shop, and more importantly It all got sidelined, when our lil grandson got knocked down by a cyclist.
so washing was a least inportant at the time.

But washer now ok and lil fella is getting that way .
