Just happened to be passing by ( I try to avoid that area 😉 ) And thought sounds a bit loud .. asked HER!!! and told yeah been like that for a while , was going to mentioned it :rolls: . Seems the bearings are a tad slack .. 😯 .. Not been on the forum since I cured the leaky drum many months ago .. ta Chris PS just bin in the shop .. 😀 seems the only place to find them June 17, 2015 at 2:41 pm #428251 ceedyParticipant Re: ISE 555 was ok , So i thought! Just a quickie … So I don’t strain myself too much 😆 Largish torx holding on the Spider on the main shaftat the back , is it normal right hand thread ?? .. Cos it a bit tight! 😳 C June 17, 2015 at 3:09 pm #428252 iadomModerator Re: ISE 555 was ok , So i thought! Yes, give it a couple of hard clouts with a big hammer to break the loctite seal taking care not to damage it. PS, That’s the drum pulley, the ‘spider’ is inside. 😉 June 17, 2015 at 6:48 pm #428253 ceedyParticipant Re: ISE 555 was ok , So i thought! yup my bad,,, Did get it off but didn’t half need a good hiding to get the shaft out.( did use another 8mm to take the pounding) the Outer bearing has disintegrated, misshapen balls ooer! the cage has disappeared completely 😯 , so a bit of a mess all round , Spider seal surface is ok and smooth , just waiting for the bearings. Oh !! and the slime inside .. 😉 C June 17, 2015 at 6:57 pm #428254 iadomModerator Re: ISE 555 was ok , So i thought! You should always fit a new drum seal. Rear bearing disintegrated, couple of nearly square balls , and the cage as gone into a pile of swarf on the ground .? byzz til next disaster .. 😀 C.
