ParticipantOur 22 month old AW23 has been making the noise of a plane taking off since not long after we got it, which is a big disappointment in itself.
However, it has kept going.
Recently this has got much worse, it sounds like everything inside the cabinet is being thrown around.
But it’s still kept going.
In the last week it has started to bounce around the floor. Our laundry room is concrete floored and the machine is absolutely level. I’m no lightweight and it’s taken all my strength to try and hold it still, and something is physically banging against the sides of the cabinet.
Slightly worried by reading an owners report their bottom weight has sheared off and there’s no sign of replacement parts…..

Have you reported it for a service call or had it looked at?

only decided last night that it really wasn’t an unbalanced load when it left a spoonfull of sand on the flor after I’d fought it to a standstill and managed to turn it off.

It sound like a weight problem but it’d have to be looked at to be sure.
Hwever if something is loose stop using it as if you do it could cause more damage.

bit annoyed about the warranty, bought the 5 year one but on reading it it doesn’t cover things like weights and suspension legs.
Assumed the warranty would be as good as the principles behind the machine – low cost, worry free. My supplier is in Arbroath, 2 hours drive away, he’s going to cost a fortune just to come and look at it.

Aye, phoned this morning, Both ISE and supplier closed til Monday, no surprise really.
Am holding off asking local washer repair man until I find out how long it’s going to take them to come round. Washing machines are inconvenient things to break down.
Took the lid off, can move the drum from side to side and it doesn’t spring back, I expected it to self centre ?

ISE are closed till Tuesday, bank holiday weekend.
I can’t speak for the local agent.
Please don’t be prodding about inside as that’s not recommended at all and there’s nothing that you’re going to be able to do I shouldn’t think any quicker than the local engineer.

Scottish Bank holiday ? Brilliant !!
Don’t worry, I’m not about to take it apart. Had some success with an old Hotpoint but won’t touch anything under warranty.

Why did you not call out an engineer at the start? 😕

Because it was still washing fine !!
I had an AEG which was surprisingly noisey not long after it was bought, but a second which stayed quiet for years.
