We have an aged ISE C1555 which has worked well now for 12 years but has now developed a fault whereby it seems to start to fill but then just stops. I checked the water supply and drain pipe and both are good. I also checked for obvious loose connections. No joy. Looking up error codes the Start/Cancel/Pause button is flashing which seems to mean “NTC open or short circuited” From a bit of reading it seems this is a sort of thermostat built into the heating element. Seems to make sense that the machine would just stop if the heating element wasn’t reaching temperature. Is this spare available for an ISE C1555 and is it an easy change out? Or would I be better off replacing the whole heating element? I’m unsure where it’s located – I think its at the bottom of the drum accessed from the rear panel? Would prefer to get it going for another 12 years over replacing it with the flash looking one the wife has her eye on! Any advice gratefully received.

as far as I can see the NTC is part of the heater

maybe someone else who knows these machines better can confirm

if you order the heater double check with shop that this is the correct part

I would check for a possible broken wire first as this has been bouncing round for 12 years
