I have a load of washing trapped inside the machine at the end of a cycle because I can’t get the door to open! I have tried waiting, I have tried turning it completely off. I have tried running an additional spin cycle. I have emptied the filter in case there was water trapped in there (there wasn’t). I have no further ideas of what I can do!!!

I can’t find my users manual, so I can’t look to see if there is some super obvious solution. I can’t open the door to look at the model number and I don’t know where my documentation is. I’m sure I’ll find it, but it may take a few hours (which I don’t really have today.) I know I sound incredibly unorganised, but I have 5 kids on my own and my filing cabinet is broken!

Please, does anyone have an idea what’s going on? The machine was new in February!

As another possibly unrelated bit of information, I have noticed the past few loads that the “end” light stays on too long and when I start the next load (different setting) it still shows the settings from the previous load. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the door not opening, but if it doesn’t think the load has ended completely then it might explain why it won’t unlock.

    Re: ISE help please!!!

Have you taken the plug of the machine out of the socket rather than just switching the socket off?

Leave it unplugged and try the door again after a few minutes.

Make sure the water level isn’t above the glass when you try.
As you have checked the filter I would imagine that all the water is out of the machine but better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks. I will try that after the cycle that my son started (grrr) finishes! lol

There was definitely no water in it. (Until my son started the cycle!)

12yo fingers, I’m afraid – old enough to think that his mucking about might actually help!!! lol.

Have tried the unplugging it and replugging it and it still won’t open. 🙁

    Re: ISE help please!!!

Is the machine an ISE 5 with a digital display with yellow numbers & letters?

I can send you a PDF of the manual if you wish. I assume you have already contacted your local agent.

    Jim.

    Re: ISE help please!!!

The fact that its going through the cycle and its not flashing any error codes I would say its the door handle or door lock at fault.

Leave it unplugged for a while the door lock may gradually release itself.

Other than a firm tap on the door handle, careful now, a call to your retailer will be in order.

Pretty sure it’s an ISE 5 – it certainly has a digital display with yellow numbers and letters. No error codes.
A PDF of the manual would be great!

I have not yet contacted a local agent though as I bought it through White Goods, I don’t know who my local agent might be. (Or how to contact someone about repair.)

I’ll try the leaving it unplugged for longer and the tap on the door handle (I’m probably more worried about breaking it than most, lol.)

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks, Jim.
I sure hope that something manages to resolve the problem over the weekend as I’ve not managed to get through to anyone today! 🙁

    Thanks for all your help!
