ParticipantHi, i’m interested in the ISE5, my BEKO WMB10W has died after 4 years of service, and i was looking for a more serviceable unit which would be easily repairabel in the future. I live near Glossop, SK14 post code, are there any suppliers in the area i can try? No one seems to have a website except this one!

Thanks K,
Has anyone delt with either of these companies? Also the dead washer, does anyone think its worth me trying to get it repaired or should i just buy a new better quality washer? It seems to of been washing worse over the last two weeks and now just wont turn/spin. I can hear a click kerr kaclick when it should spin. If its sealed units/£80 motors i’d rather just get a new washer, but if its a cheap brush or such i’ll happily repair it.
At the end of the day i just need a simple washer nothing fancy which works.

If you can hear a clicking noise when you turn the drum by hand then it does sound as though your motor is shot.
As the person responsible for installation and service on all the ISE machines sold by Star Supplies I can indeed vouch for them. 😉
They are really nice set of people to deal with but then I am a little biased. 8)
Almost 200 machines installed in just over 2 years.
Geoff Rolands is also a very well respected engineer.

Hi Jim,
It is silent when i turn it by hand.I can hear the clicks when i try and run a program, i guess relays , kind of like the sound of a microswitch. It doesnt even try to spin/roll when i turn it on. If it is repairable am i just on a hiding to nothing?
I’ll phone tomorrow as i’m not far from Oldham. Though i’m busy in the morning.

Well worth checking the motor brushes in that case.
Motor is a little difficult to remove but I would advise giving it a go.
If you know what you are looking for you can visibly check the motor commutator from underneath by leaning the machine back against a wall or a cupboard.. It should appear quite smooth and shiny, if it looks rough or dirty then you could well just need brushes.
Be sure to remove the plug and watch for the sharp edges.
A useful article HERE

ParticipantAhh thank you, these things are a little larger than the ones my RC helicopter uses, but i get the idea.
Hmm suddenly my mind is filled with the idea of modding a washing machine and tweaking it like my chopper 😉
Maybe a brushless mod and some heatsinks…

Well, if it comes to the worst, the ISE 5 already has a 3 phase, brushless motor and some huge heat sinks 8)

ParticipantGot it, when i took it all apart i noticed a wire had somehow become detached from the motor “interface” being an RC fan i had the tools to fix it all, and the old bargin basement washer lives again.
Sadly this means i’ll put the ISE5 on hold for a while at least.

No problem at all. We are strongly in favour of repairing any machine when it is cost effective. 8)
