Hi – hoping you can help or advise…
My ISE 10 is almost 1 year old.. it is used once a week and up until now, been very happy. It is used for just me and hubby clothing, normal clothes nothing unusual

It now has a rattle or vibration… imagine a set of washers placed on the top case…. when it is 1600 and say 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} load and when on a normal (not quick) when the very fast speed kicks in at 6mins to go…. the vibration rattle is very intense… it you touch with your finger the top case of the machine, the rattle vibration noise significantly reduces almost goes (back to normal).

It does not do this on a wash 1200 speed spin.

I have checked the filter and nothing there.. the blades at the back of the filter spin.

I have phoned ISE and am awaiting a call from my local service .. but I have been advised that if there is something in the pump I would be charged.. there is nothing in the pump but immediately feeling concerned.

I read a few items on the forum saying people are charged if nothing is wrong. There clearly is something wrong as it is only started doing it in the last few weeks.

Concerns me that I may be charged for the call out… you know, engineering says something wrong with my hearing.. but honestly, at 5min left on 1600 I walked upstairs and the vibration was incredible from the bedroom..I know what it sounded like 1200 last week and was fine and also 1600 past 10 months no problem.

Will the engineer have to run the full cycyle or sping only cycle to hear it or can he press fast forward electronically?

My guarantee (10 years) shows a dealer in Corby with the number so I phoned and he said they don’t cover my area. Lady at ISE said I would get a call from another dealer but looking at the map nearers is 20 miles ..

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi

No people don’t get charged if it’s a manufacturing defect. But if there is NO actual fault then no manufacturer will accept the charges which is why the engineers will try to talk through the possibilities to avoid the call. This is common practise with any manufacturer. Some don’t tell you and expect the engineers to suffer the cost.

Have you checked that it hasn’t moved and that it just needs the feet adjusting or that it’s not touching anything ? things do fall behind machines and down the sides.

    Hi snowycat,

The warranty covers any mechanical or electrical failure within the machine, the guys on the phone try to inform people of that and advice of all possible reasons that they can think of for people to try before placing a call.

The reasons for this are that it often lets people sort out silly problems like blockages and whatnot in minutes at no cost at all and without needing an engineer to call. It saves time, money and hassle for everyone.

If it were blocked then it is correct that, like all manufacturer warranties, faults like that are virtually never covered. The process ISE and many other manufacturers use helps to explain that to people because a good many people assume that manufacturer warranties cover absolutely anything, which obviously isn’t true.

If it is a fault with the machine though there’s absolutely nothing to worry about as it’d just get sorted at no cost to you at all.

The only other thing I can think on that could cause that and, not be an actual fault as such is overloading, it’s easy to do even by accident and there’s a lot more instruction on that here that may be of help explaining:

Outside of that it’s possible something’s loose or another silly problem that should be easily sorted out for you.

    Thanks Bryan

Nothing in the way… or touching.. been sat cosy for past year… hubby (who is another type of engineer and very anal lol) checked all connections and flouring and all is level and smooth (if that makes sense!)…. it is really weird.. if you said that a case clip is missing then I would believe it as the top case really makes a difference if you gently put your finger on it at the time of disturbing noise. I would say there could be a tiny movement when you touch the top case (not the front case)….

There is space either side and under the worktop.. water and waste pipes free from the unit…

I have to say I am very careful every wash in checking all pockets… as hubby tends to have tissues in both pockets and so always double check pockets (even when he says he has checked them before putting in the laundry basket (men!).

    I am really puzzled.
It is a lovely piece of kick for almost 1k.. a tough decision and happy we choise ise.. just pray this doesnt turn out to be a nightmare…
Waiting for that call.. apparently the engineer comes in around 48hours.. it is nearly the weekend…

Can I still use the machine? No other function problems…

Hoping for some reassurance..thanks again 😕

    Thanks K

Since the happy arrival I always check the load… I am concious that my hubby choice spending this level £ that it scares me to overload.. hence when I put a load in I always take an extra moment to ask myself… and double check. He would kill me if I screwed up :rolls:

I have often put two loads on for fun.. when probably didnt need to 🙂 as the ise is a pleasure to own.. don’t mind hitting play twice in one day or a third for the bed linning on its own.

I hope the engineer calls and I get lots of questions and not just assume they need to visit.

Make me paranoid now.. maybe I will do another dozen washes before accepting an engineer!

Will discuss with hubby when he returns home.. he will not be pleased to have this discussion on a “happy weekend” home!
