    Hi,

Recently we’ve been finding the machine stopped with F4 fault showing. This is apparently a fault with water supply. I’ve followed the book instructions – checked water supply to pipe and checked inlet all clear.

Decided to keep an eye on a programme and it seems that mid wash the machine stops, clock then counts down without the machine doing anything and eventually stops with the F4 fault showing on the display.

Interestingly if you then put to rinse the machine fills and goes through this programme normally completing to door opening. You can visibly see water entering the machine on the rinse cycle.

So, anything else I should check or try before calling for service? Any ideas what it will be? If I do need service do I call supplier directly or arrange through ISE?

    All help appreciated.

There’s three separate inlets on the valve, pre wash, wash and rinse.

What program were you using as, if it was any without a pre-wash I’d have expected it to fail on no supply on all as the rinse one doesn’t kick in until the end and the prewash one only used at the start where a prewash is used.

If need be just drop a line to ISE and it’ll get picked up in the morning.

No a standard coloured cotton wash. Think it stopped with about 40 mins to go. Got it going on an empty cycle now to try and work out when exactly it stops (has started and filled initially however). We’ve found the washing machine stopped with F4 showing a few times but had normal washes in between. Will likely call the guy who I ordered it from tomorrow (Quality Washer Repairs) if there’s no obvious easy thing to check. If he can’t come will contact ISE direct.

Edit – Yes watched this programme. Fills, agitates, pumps and spins. As before after the spin you feel it should call for more water but it stops at about 45 mins, counts down for a bit then displays the F4 fault.

There’s nothing especially obvious as such other than checking that there is water to the machine which, there obviously is.

If the inlet filter was blocked it should give you that error on every fill. But, having said that, if the valve was faulty you should get likewise.

It’s possible that there’s a dirty connection or something to the pressure sensor. That would certainly explain the random nature.

Only other thing I’d ask is, can you hear the machine fill or attempt to fill before it goes F4?

Chris will figure it out though, he’s a top bloke.

Thanks, no doesn’t appear to attempt to fill – just silence. I’ve booked the service call so will update with the solution.

Said I’d update. Machine fixed first visit by Chris from Quality Washer Repairs. He thought it would be a solenoid on one of the inlet valves, tested and found one that needed replacing. He had one and replaced it there and then.

Have to say the service was quick, efficient and easy. Up and running again now.

I’d recommend Quality Washer Repairs to anyone around the Leeds area by the way (whether you have an ISE or not).
