I want to buy the new ISE 10 1607w. I have tried to buy a Siemens and when the fitter came due to a large box like attachment on the cold water pipe which fitter advised is also on Bosch machines it was difficult for him to connect this. As it happened when he did hose was faulty and it leaked but he did suggest would be easier to get a machine with a standard fixing. I have always had Zanussis before and no problems with fixtting. Anyway before ordering the ISE just wondered if you could confirm if it has a standard fitting or a box like one. Sorry to use such untechnical terms and hope this makes sense!

I think it’s an anti-flood fill hose that was on the pipe of the BSH machines, Bosch and Siemens are the same thing, different badge.
No, the 1607 does not use that sort of hose, it’s a standard size although a Pex hose which is a bit stiffer than most. A normal hose can be used if there’s an issue though.

hi ken,
on this very subject i was about to post, my waste pipe is located at the side of my machine about half way back on the corner wall, theres a gap of almost 900mm where the 1607 would fit, a bad kitchen design! (not mine) :haier:
So if you can understand from the description, i was wondering would the stiffer hose of the 1607 be able to be bent around the side of the machine or should i get the waste pipe re-located around the back of the machine, if so where would be the best place on the back wall, like central or towards left or right? Or if i had to use an ordinary hose, which i didnt really want to because obviously there is a reason for this style of hose, does it effect the guarantee in any way please?

The Pex hose, which is the fill hose, well, there’s a story there…
To bend them the best thing to do is to put them in hot water to make them a bit more flexible as they are semi-rigid almost, so sharp bends etc. are not happening.
The reason that it’s used is that it is the only fill hose that can meet the quality criteria of lasting in excess of 12-15,000 cycles. In fact, the hose is guaranteed by Pex against bursting for 50 years if memory serves me.
It is a bit of overkill I guess but then, there’s been a lot of care and thought put into the 1607 and it’s kin so it shouldn’t really be a surprise. It’s just the way that the Swedes are (for want of a better term) anal about the quality level, they are just mental at times on it. Not that I’m going to complain about that attitude, I applaud it really.
The drain hose is a semi-rigid corrugated plastic which is as flexible as it can be made to be. I have never had an issue routing the drain hose at all and, I’ve installed more than a few machines myself.

ahhh, got it now thanks ken, i got the drain hose muddled up with fill hose 😳
I was thinking that the drain hose was stiffer than usual, so i may have a problem getting it to the side of the machine, but glad you have cleared that up because now i should have no problems with the stiffer hose as the water connections are in the usual place. 😀

My direct Drive LG is on its last legs (after 4 years) and since the extended warrantee ran out I was looking for a replacement. It’s the 4th washer we have had in 15 years and I was looking for something of a better quality. I was originally looking at a Miele 5740 or 5962 but after reading your various posts (including some rather amusing arguments between you and a certain young Miele sales rep) I am thinking of the ISE10. I was wondering if there are any pictures of the new washer I could look at. The ones on this site are just the pre production ones with Swedish writing on the front. Since my wife (unfortunately) is not Swedish, I was wondering if you could supply me with a few pictures of the actual unit that’s being sold next week. Also I live in St Helens would I be right that the nearest retail partner to me would be in Manchester?

Hi Chris,
One of the first machines to be shipped is to me to do principal photography work with so we have photos of the actual machine.
The pre-pro photos are, other than the Swedish thing, very close to the actual production machine. The only real change is the facia which is obviously in English and carries the ISE badge on it. Aside from that it is as shown.
I know, I had to approve the art and provide the logo etc.
I’m getting to learn the Swedish thing but it’s not so easy. 😉
I think there’s someone closer but I’d have to check for you. The ISE site hasn’t been updated as we’ve been redesigning it quite considerably of late.

Well guys my wife has used it for a few washes now and the verdict is good. She never read the instructions and just played it by ear and it washes fine.

Hi all,
The fitting of my 1607 went very smoothly 🙂
The engineer said he has had no problems with the pex hose unless the area is very tight indeed. He said the only problem is if you try to bend it sharply rather than manipulate it slowly into place, commonsense was mentioned 😉 Mine was no problem 😀
The machine has surpassed all my expectations TBH 😀
