ISE10 repeatedly failing thermistor

My ISE 10 (1606W) bought in 2008 is now on its 5th thermistor. These keep failing at increasingly frequent intervals. Symptom is that the water never gets heated, but all else is OK. No fault code.

The thermistors seem to be getting wet (there is water on the end of the plastic bracket when removed). Although they look well sealed, I’m guessing water does eventually penetrate – but I can’t see anywhere the water could be coming from. Any ideas as to what might be leaking to get water to the thermistor?

Firstly

Follow the water stain from above as the water does not climb up the side of the outer tank. When the lid is off you will see white stains running down towards the sensor. When looking from the front of the machine look at the right hand side..Is there a white streak going down the side of the tank ? Follow that to the point where it starts.

Thanks for your reply.

I thought I had checked everything carefully, but you prompted me to look again and sure enough there is a very small leak where the water enters the tank from the soap dispenser. This has been repaired before (the machine has been back to the retailer a few times for this fault) – what is the best way to fix this now? It looks like some sort of sealant has been applied previously which has now failed. Do I need some special sealant to fix this or will standard silicone sealant do the job?
