As stated previously AJSDOC I have a minimal stock of ISE parts available and am in talks with Gorenje for the access for more.

    Bryan,

Thanks, that’s a helpful reply. Not sure if you were involved with the ISE project, but it seems there could well be a (probably small) market for spares.

Ken, you have a large Internet whitegoods spares website and were very involved with ISE, are Gorenge refusing to supply parts to be distributed through your store? It would just seem the most obvious route – a spares business owned by a previous owner of ISE. It would seem a natural solution to make the best out of a bad job.

    It’s not so simple.

Perhaps to outsiders looking in it’s a case of bish-bash-bosh and we’re done but, the reality is not that and making it far from that simple.

Gorenje have and, importantly had, pre-existing spares distribution in place. Asko is merely another layer but one that has to fit in with the rest of the main group culture.

In other words, politics are a major factor, not so much the physical aspect doing the job.

Early days though. It took almost two years to get a direct account with Asko in the first place, these things often take an age to sort out.

Re: ISE10 washing machine broken- is repair possible now ?

from the customers point of view the problem is also that there is not a very good distribution of engineers throughout the country who know about ISE machines and are willing to find spare parts. I contacted engineers through here but only 1 replied and he did not know about ISE machines or have any idea / interest in how to get spares. I do live in a rural location – it might be easier in a city.

My machine has been looked at before by an engineer under the guarantee BUT that engineer came from south of birmingham i.e. over 70 miles away, so engineers that far away are not going to want to come out when their is no guarantee they can get the parts and therefore get paid for the job.

Anyway mine is now waiting to go….. i respect what ISE tried to do BUT suspect the industry is so tightly controlled by those making machines that last 10 minutes who do not want to return to the culture of making machines to last and be mended …our whole culture is just to buy cheap / use for short time / bin and buy new, i think things will only change if / when washing machines become much more expensive to produce / buy and so people will want to keep them going…. anyway thanks for your help…

PS i have an ISE dishwasher too, any tips on how to look after that a bit better and treat it right as i don’t want that to break too!

Thank You Bryan for your kind offer but i have cut my losses now and got a new machine today.

I got an ISE originally as i need reliability as can’t afford to be without a washer if anyone tries a similar venture again, the lesson i have learnt is that the machines need to be backed up with a network of engineers throughout the country who can service the machines quickly ….. it’s a shame ISE did not work out……
