ISE2 kickplates

I knew it would happen! Got a customer saying they cant remove the kickplate. I know they are tight, struggle myself with them.

Anyone gone to the bother of trying to make them a looser fit????
Whats other peoples thoughts on the tightness of them???

I thought that as well Tim, then I found the right way to press them and they go on and off as easy as pie. I have to say, it isn’t obvious though.

A piece of plastic about the thickness of three credit cards. Just insert it between the bottom of the front panel and top edge of the kickplate and just run it along. Pops off like a goodun’

I am generally focusing the ISE2 sales towards the older customer. To some, finding the correct width of plastic and utilising it in the correct way will cause another headache.

I was thinking about modifying, snipping a lug or two, to make it easier to remove. If it goes wrong is it a pain to obtain replacement kickplates?

(And I know that some people will then complain that the kickplate unclips when they catch their foot on it.)

Sorry for what seems such a trivial matter but I seem to have some of the fussiest customers going.

Na Tim, they can all b picky. 😉

If you press just where the lugs are it’s fine but if you don’t know where they are it can be hard to pop. I’ve not tried Sean’s trick though.

We should be able to dig you up a kickplate to give it a go with. I think Sean may have one knocking about.

I tell my customers to use a flat, rounded end teaspoon handle and push it gently between the front panel and the plinth. Push in at the end then the middle and the lugs release. Everyone has a teaspoon and they are virtually all smooth, rounded and have flat handles.
I have only ever found a slight difficulty with ISE 2 plinths when removing them from the bottom hooks, but not too bad to be fair.

All of these machines are already supplied with a plinth removal tool, 😉

I know the small white plastic plate is supposed to fit in the detergent drawer for liquids but we are all telling people to use powder aren’t we. 8)

That plastic plate is perfect for levering off the plinth.
