Jackson J1200D replacing door hinge

Hi,

I’m trying to replace the broken door hinge on my Jackson J1200D washer/dryer. I’ve read that there is a back-plate to the hinge, so I need to take the top off the machine and hold the back-plate in place as I replace the hinge (otherwise the back-plate will drop into the bottom of the machine).

But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the top off the machine? It’s probably really simple, but I’m lost.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I normally just fold back the door boot to access, much easier. Just release the retaining ring that holds it in position….simples! 😀
