Please, please don’t leave “stickies” for too long, I just cleared about 15 of the damn things from the WTA members forum which was more than half a page even at the resolution I look at it in.

People just won’t be ar$ed to scroll down to the active topics, they’ll just think, “f**k that, nothing interesting or new”.

You can set a sticky post to so many days and, unless it’s of permanent interest, I’d suggest 30 days as an absolute maximum.

Use the forum to your advantage, bump topics by all means but don’t think that people will read it because it’s sticky, they’ll read it because it’s interesting to them. Start with the title, go from there, you need to capture the reader’s attention and hold it. 😉

Use the TA website, direct and signpost the traffic.

If you like I’ll get the newsletter thing installed on there as well for you. Even if it’s once in a blue moon you send one, use that as another signpost. Use the UKW newsletter as well, just time things right and you will see results.

Case in point, watch what happens this week with the engineer search, WTA site facelift, the Feb meeting and some other stuff I’m cooking.

You catch more flies with honey…

    K.
