Jlwm1200 drum wont turn

Hi guys, hope you can help.
john lewis washing machine approx 6 years old, the drum does not turn , removed the back and found the belt to be broken, I would of thought the drum would still turn manually without the belt? My thinking is the drum has jammed and has broke the belt?Is their anything I could try before I go down the route of replacing machine due to age etc.

there is only 2 reasons for a drum jam

1 bearing failure. Chances are its been making a lot of noise before it goes

2 something jamming it. there is not a lot of room between the top of the inside drum and the tank so items of clothing can get stuck
