    Hi,
The program selector knob is on its way out on my John Lewis washing machine (JLWM1202). The knob will currently only select washing machine programs if I turn it anticlockwise. The knob just turns round freely in the clockwise direction (no clicking noises) and does not select any programs, there is also a rattle which sounds like a part has broken when the knob is turned clockwise.

I have inquired about spare parts and wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I believe there are three parts to this program selector. The knob itself, a support, and then electronics behind. I’m assuming its either the knob or the support housing which has failed. Does this sound correct?

Is this a typical problem with this selector switch?
Does anyone have any instructions on how to replace it?
Do I need any special tools?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Cheers
    Tim
