ParticipantOn a cotton wash the sequence stops at the spin cycle and remains at that point. You can open the door, but the washing is still wet. This appears to happen on all washcycles other than the 30 min wash, which goes through a full sequence. You can put the machine into spin mode or drain mode and the machine operates ok. The machine, will spin, drain and do a 30 min wash ok, but will not do any of the complete coloureds/wool/synthetics wash sequences fully. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Probably heater fault? Not used on short cycle.

Thanks for your feedback, I will check out the heater element, but I am sure we have opened the door at some stage and found the clothes warm and during the operation found the glass front quite warm.
Here are some further observations on the situation.
30 minute cycle seems to be working OK, washes, spins and uses fabric conditioner
handwash cycle – working as 30 min cycle
60 degree wash – never takes fabric conditioner from drawer, sometimes does not spin water off (wash ends with drum full of water)
drain cycle – works
spin cycle – works
Hope this helps in your diagnostic.December 13, 2014 at 1:21 pm #422643Martin

Ah! 💡
I could be the thermal trip (inside the pump windings) operating. When it gets hot it stops but when cool it works. Solution : New drain pump.

Thanks for your advice, have now tried a 90degree wash and drain sequence works ok, but again problem seems to be at the end of the overall cycle. In the JL operating manual in the problem solving section it has lead me to the water inlet valves, which I have proved worked ok and blown down each pipe to prove no blockages. I have checked the inlet filter and drain filters, the pressure switch on the water level, the heating element and sensor, the drain pump connections, the main motor brushes and made sure all of the electrical plug connections are securely in. Are there any other items I could check out to solve the problem?
