Well, after my Servis washer gave up the ghost, it’s time for a replacement. I learned my lesson about taking retailers at their word regarding reliability with the Servis, so I’m trying to make a more informed choice this time around! It seems that Miele and Bosch come pretty well rated. I can’t afford a Miele, but I’ve heard that the washing machines John Lewis are selling are actually manufactured by Bosch, is this true?

This is the machine I’m looking at: http://www.johnlewis.com/Electrical/Was … oduct.aspx
Comes with a 3 year warranty, which is reassuring. Any reason to suspect this won’t be as good as a ‘proper’ Bosch?

Features aren’t a concern for me, I only ever use one or two programs – I just want a reliable machine.

    That’s a Zanussi 😉

    For the same price:

Ahhh right. My Mum’s had some bad experiences with Zanussi, so I think I’ll steer clear of the John Lewis brand ones.

The Bosch one you linked to looks decent; shame the guarantee’s only 2 years, but if it comes recommended that’s good enough for me.
