    Dear Forum
Thanks for this very useful facility.
We bought a John Lewis double oven back in 2006, which has worked fine for over 6 years until we needed to replace the main oven heating element. It has worked fine again since.
We have just returned from a fortnight away. We turned on the main oven, and it was fine for about 3 minutes, and then it tripped the RCD. When I reset the RCD the main oven wouldn’t start unless I activated the clock – but the pressing the clock buttons tripped it again. I have read UK Whitegoods’ advice on the possible reasons for the RCD to cut out, and I’m wondering whether it is either the clock or the heating element. The top oven works fine, and i don’t think it is the thermostat, since the main oven didn’t heat up sufficiently before it cut out.
    Any ideas? Thanks
    Dan
