Customer says machine will sometimes stop in middle of wash and occasionally when set on a 55 minute cycle it will work for 30 minutes then switch back to 55 mins????

Diagnostics throw up E52, no signal from tacho.

Brushes only half worn, comm in good order, all wiring intact, heater meggers out ok.

Set it to spin and motor runs up to speed perfectly, no sound or sign of excessive brush arcing etc.

    Anyone encountered anything like this?

    Jim.

Hi Jim, Are the wires inside motor plug ok? NTC or connections?

I think E52 is yet another Lux red herring. The fact that it stops mid cycle and resets the time indicates to me there may be a load imbalance/ wrong programme setting issue by the customer.

A”55 minute cycle” is some variant quick wash selected by the user that is inappropriate based on the load size they are stuffing in?

    Just a thought.

I had this Jim. Eventually replaced the motor and it’s worked ever since. I think it may have been the insulation reading getting low when the motor heated up.

Thanks Barry, that sounds feasible as she says that it is intermittent and usually runs for at least 30 minutes before failing. I would have expected it to show an E50 error message but hey ho. 🙁

Not an option, already advised her that may be a possibility and after 5 or 6 years on a sealed drum machine she said she would not spend on a motor. 🙁

Sorry, missed this one, yes removed motor plug and wiring was fine.
