    Hi
    I need some assistance please.
I have a john lewis fridge freezer – model number JLFFW2001 that i am having issues with.

The fridge and freezer section works well for a few weeks. Then the top part of the friedge stops cooling and becomes warm. The freezer section stays cold with no issues.

To fix this issue i need to open the freezer and open the plastic panel that covers the matrix. The matrix is covered in think ice. I think this then prevents the air from flowing to the top part of the fridge to keep it cool.

The cooling fan works ok. I have seen that working, can hear it etc.

Can anyone tell me what i need to do to fix this issue please?

    Thank you

Think you need a very good fridge engineer who is well versed with your model which I am not. BUT I would suspect from my ancient foray into the crazy world of complex frost free contraptions ( and your machine is one ) it could be the fridge/freezer defrost heater gone to pot part 2142142096 £51. The fridge freezer over heat protection thermostat a blue and grey wired with 2 black sensors part 2146281064 £37. Fride/freezer temperature sensor part 2425155054 £39 or the cause could be none of these and be the pcboard which is a phone Electrolux up because it may be obsolete. Does not answer your question directly but merely suggests the route cause of the possible problem

the only other thing i can think off is door seal

check the seal is in contact all the way round and not letting moisture in
