ParticipantHi
I have a John Lewis American Style fridge freezer.
The last couple of days there has been error codes flashing on both the freezer lcd and the fridge lcd.
Freezer LCD flashing : E
Fridge LCD flashing : FWhen this occurs it seems as though the fridge is self shut down.
1)I am thinking either the fan inside the freezer is faulty or the fan outside the rear near compressor is faulty.
2)I am also thinking maybe the PCB is faulty causing this.
3)Or a sensor somewhere
I have no idea on whats causing this and i need someone who can assist me with error codes and further diagnosis.
I can change parts easily enough as i am good with my hands and tools.
I am hoping someone can help me.

Can you give us any other numbers off the rating plate. I can’t tell who makes this from the model number.

Hi
It says made in Mexico , the pcb is a Electrolux . I can’t find a munufacturer name though.I wanted to update some testing I have been doing yesterday.
So when the “ E / F “ appeared again yesterday I tried twice in a row to do a power reset believing the pcb my be faulty, and the error stayed.
I then reset the lcd buttons inside the fridge followed by a power reset believing the internal lcd pcb may be faulty, twice the error stayed.
Finally I opened the freezer door and exactly where the fan sits I used a closed fist and gave it a gentle but decent thump followed by a power reset and it instantly started working again.Apron 8 hours later when the error occurred again I repeated the above steps exactly , and the results were exactly the same.
This morning appox 8 hours later when the error occurred again I repeated the above steps exactly , and the results were exactly the same.
Now that I am confident the fan inside the freezer is getting stuck I will try skip all steps except the thump to be sure.
This will take all day to get results but I am thinking a new sensor and fan motor is required.
Will post back soon
