Our dryer has broken down after a period of struggling to dry things properly, which I coped with by reducing the loads a bit. Now it makes an odd noise and doesn’t turn at all.
After over 6 years of almost daily service, it might be due retiring. However, the spot it is in is at 90 degrees to our washer and anything deeper than 58.5 cm is a no go, which excludes most of the better brands of vented dryer. For example, looking at the Which best buys, we could fit an indesit IDV75, but not a Miele T7934. ISE don’t seem to have a vented option at all.
Not overjoyed at buying an Indesit as I worry with our level of use we would kill it…any thoughts?

I would steer clear of the indesit. May pay to get an engineer to look at yours 1st. May be something simple like a motor capacitor, does it hum instead of turning ?

Dad has taken it apart, cleared out a jam and put it all back together, but the belt is loose. How do we fit it correctly, does anyone know? Or could it be stretched and need replacement?
