As a result of the failure of our Bosch Exxcel last week (see my other thread), am considering the above John Lewis model for purchase this weekend. Does anyone have any opinions/experience on this unit ?

An alternative would be the Siemens SE24M851 (£50 less but free 5 year guarantee)

Have decided must have stainless steel unit to suit kitchen, so any opinions on best buy for up to £400 (however, both myself and my live-in interior designer like the smooth fronted look of the John Lewis model)

By the way, who makes the JL dishwasher?

    Thanks

    Hi

There is nothing to choose between the two as far as tech spec is concerned, as far as the build is concerned I know a fair bit of the JL products are sourced through the Electrolux group of companies, however I do not know if this is one of them. On the other hand we know that Siemens is a trusted high quality German brand and with the 5 year warranty it`s not to be sniffed at.

So it comes down to the overall appearance and as you say the JL has much smarter lines with no controls showing. I must admit it does look good.

All things considered I would probably go with the JL machine and extend the warranty to 5 years for complete peace of mind.
