Hope someone can help. This little beauty: o/let pump works, starts to fill for about 20 secs which I think it is supposed to, the motor comes on but only runs at 1/4 speed if at all and when it doesn`t run it hums. Have tried a new 3 uf cap, mais non! The very expensive pcb looks ok, presume motor is the culprit? Motor not jammed-turns as it should via the screw diver in the tacho screw.Of course it could be the pcb- not sensing tacho output. Anyone any ideas, is this problem common? Thx.

The electronics vary the speed between either 1600 rpm or 2800 rpm dependent on programme selection. But from what you say it sounds like the motor itself ain’t even reaching 1600 so it must be for the junk bin.

Thx Martin. Yes the motor runs very slowly. I`ll put it to the customer and see if he wants to go ahead.

Follow up. It was the motor. What happened was the plastic conveyor was split and spraying H2O on to the base, the float swt`s polystyrenne float, er….didn`t and so the motor got covered in water. Surprisingly, and this was a fear, the pcb wasn`t goosed; a bit of luck!
