Been getting Error 20 which told me spigot blocked, but turns out that having taken off the side of the dishwasher, there is in fact no water coming in.

So I suspect the inlet solenoid it shows open ciruit with a multimeter

So I suspect the solenoid is gone. (not sure why error 20 is showing – would have thought Error 10 would have popped up immediately)

Anyhow it would appear that the model I have (4yrs old) has the AEG Inlet Hose Water block (so solenoid sits at end – not inside the machine).

    So questions:-

Does anyone know where I might get one of these (cannot find one on this forums shop site, or anywhere else. Espares have the part, but not available)

Anybody know why error 20, rather than error 10 – does that indicate some other hidden problem

So any comments much appreciated before I give up and splash out on a new washer

Update on John Lewis JLDWW906 E20 (but with no water)

So since my posting of yesterday, done a bit more poking about and have got this info.

Solenoid does shows open circuit on Mutlitmeter

If I leave the wires disconnected the machine flags E30 error within a minute of starting a program.

So I put back the wires and then place AC m-meter across the connectors and I see 2.78volts across the pins. This may well me just the voltage drop over the solenoid, but then that does not make sense if the solenoid is open circuit.

I see this 2.78 volts all the time, even when I reset the dishwasher and not even set a program. Personally I would have expected much higher voltages across the pins, but without access to a service manual it’s all guess work

So I am confused – in that the controller can see when I disconnect wires, but if the solenoid is open ciruit, then how is it working out that that the wires are connected???.

My concern is whether the problem is the logic controller not working or whether it is the inlet valve that is snookered.

Do not really want to cough up £55 for a aqua-control hose if that is not the problem.

So any ideas over the next day or so would be good, before the good lady makes me go spend £350 on a new one

    Topic merged.

Saves a lot of confusion and most people won’t go hunting to different threads to find out what happened before.
