HI there, I have a frost free John Lewis JLFFW2005 that is two months out of warranty (of course!).

It has started doing a trick whereby the fridge will not cool below 8degrees although the freezer seems fine.

I have had two engineers to look at it – the first turned it off then on again after a few minutes. So glad I paid for that particular call-out ! It did actually seem to solve the problem for a day but then back to a warm fridge.

The next engineer was the one John Lewis put me on to. He seemed to think that it was a lack of silicon in the holes in the back of the fridge that apparently should have been put there in the factory but wasn’t. He put the silicon in and I defrosted. it worked fine for 1 week but now that I have finally been shopping again for some fresh food it has gone wrong again.

Any one have any ideas before I have a sense of humour failure!? I’m already over £100 down in engineer fees… 🙁
    Thanks

Either the fan is defective or the defrost element or thermal cut outs have failed. Call back the engineer which I’m assuming would of been Serviceforce as they shouldn’t charge any more labour just cost of parts.

Thank you very much for your help. The Serviceforce engineer has returned and will be replacing the defective bits – and not charging any further labour costs as you say.
