John Lewis JLFFW2013 problem.

Hello
currently searching the forum for any similar problems and solutions.

As stated in topic its john lewis JLFFW2013 FRIDGE FREEZER

prod no. :925034272-00

ser no. :93340022

Problem : freezer compartment is fine,fridge compartment temp shows as 15+ degrees,too warm

Happened about 2 weeks ago.2 days after,we powered it down for 24 hours after trying a few things and completely defrosted it.

Turned it on next day,and it’s been working up till today.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Maybe fan problem, fan in freezer blows cold air up to fridge via ducting & past a motorised flap actuator that opens & closes depending on temperature selected.

Have found a few posts relating to JL fridge freezers but nothing has come of those,it’s out of warranty now aswell.

Will keep searching.

Quick update.

By saturday night the temp of the fridge had gone up to 18 degrees C,highest we’ve seen it so far..we were going to defrost again monday.
However sunday morning,the fridge was working again, a very nice 4 degrees C.
I don’t hold much hope of this lasting though.

I’ve read about some of the possible problems,the compressor,a temperature sensor or the fan.These seem to be the main culprits.Just need to decide if to get an engineer in or replace the bloody thing.

Would check-a-trade be a good place to find a trustworthy engineer?
