ParticipantHi,
I have a John Lewis JLWM1201 machine which stops after any of the wash cycles. If you then manually change to a rinse cycle it will fill and rinse for a short time and then stops again. If you change to a spin cycle it empties and spins slowly for a short time and then stops again. The only way I can get it to open the door is to switch to drain where it will drain and then finish and the door is then unlocked. I have checked the pump and filter but it is all clear. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sound like it may think its full of water or at least partly full.
there is an air operated switch in the machine that detects water height. look for it at the top of the machine and follow the rubber hoses (about 10mm dia) to the bottom and check if the pressure chambers are gummed upthe idea is if it get to the end of the wash and drains but thinks it is still full then it wont proceed. the sam fault will stop it spinning if its got water in it wont spin so if it thinks it has it wont spin either.
as a test leave the machine off 24 hours and try a spin. if it spins ok then good chance its blockeddave

Hi Dave,
I checked the pressure chamber and cleaned it although it looked ok. I also removed a lot of lime scale from the inside of the rubber hose while I had it apart. I put it back together and it now has gone through two complete cycles with no problems at all so looks like you were right. Great advice!
Many Thanks

Hi Dave,
Bad news, after working twice successfully yesterday my wife used it today and found the problem had returned. Do you think it may be the pressure switch needs replacing?
Thanks

since its the traditional pressure switch try blowing into it a few times and let the switches click in case they are sticking
if that cures it for a while you are likely on the right track
