Having just scrapped an 18 month ZWF12070 for bearing failure (sealed drum horror) I was a bit leery at the prospect of yet another “Zanussi”, but the JL deal of £374 including 5 year cover (£75/year to do the washing) looked pretty good by comparison with the effective £192/year the ZWF had cost me (£289, 1year warranty, dead 6 months out of cover).

First thing I did was whip the top off the JLWM for a comparative looksee…… pretty much identical with one very encouraging difference- a lovely circle of bolts holding the two halves of the otherwise identical looking outer drum together 😀

Other possible upside to this is I have an almost complete set of known working spares for when that warranty does expire.

zanussi’s customer service must absolutely hate me, the good thing is they basically get sacked if they hang up on a call, so i never end the call until ive got at least a free inspection out of them…

As far as I know the JLWM1200 still uses the 5.5kg drum so that could be why it has the screwed tub rather than the welded.
