I have just had the capacitor replaced on the above machine and after a few days all seems to be well – fingers crossed.
The part of the door that contains the slide in lint filter has an “Internal locking Door Cap” that I am trying to remove to be able to get at all the fluff behind it.
On first apearance there are a couple of screws on either side of the “Cap” which would appear to be all that is holding the cap in place. However, removal of these screws
makes no difference to being able to remove the cap. It is stuck fast.
I don’t want to tug too hard and possibly break it so can anyone advise how this cap should be correctly removed so that I can get access behind it?
Thanks
Hi Electrofix – Yes that’s what I mean. There are two visible screws situate in between the small rectangular slots in your photo (in between the items with a 2 arrowed)
These are easy enough to remove but 13.1.2 states “release the four clamps”.
Is this easy to do as I didn’t realise that there were clamps in these slots (2 arrowed)
If the item is clamped in I can’t understand the point of the additional screws.
Thanks Dave.
The photo that you posted previously looks to have come from a manual.
If so, can you please tell me what this is?
I believe that a lot of the John Lewis stuff about 2006 – when the drier was manufactured – is rebadged Electrolux/AEG so if I can find out which of their products it was
I might get a bit more success searching on here or with Google.
