I just bought on auction John Lewis washer dryer 1612. It was working fine first time when I tried to use it next time it came up with error “1” – no letters in the front. Can anyone help me, what is the problem with it? I tried to have a look what is wrong with it and only think which sometimes help is when I shot doors an it click twice than sometimes it works (not always).

    Thank you for any help.

This model doe’s not have an error 1 however what can happen on this model is the door lock can stick with one minute to go so I would be looking at a replacement door switch

I all ready replace door lock. It looks like it is stick on 1 minute. The oddest think is whichever option I choose and pres start it is showing 1 minute straight a way and machine is pumping out the water. Is there anything else I can do or check?

does sound like an ood fault.

all fault codes on display machine come up as E followed by a number. the closest to 1 is the E10 series which is all about filling faults. in your case it seems to be only allowing you 1 minute programmes

is it running some sort of programme and only taking 1 minute or is it not starting at all

It shows 1 and then starting to pump out the water. But after pumping water out it is stuck and do nothing (display 1 all the time). I need to open the doors by puling emergency opening think.
If I live it alone for about a week it will work totally fine but just once and then if I try to use it again it will straight go to 1.

is there no flashing lights anywhere ?

think the first thing to try is a long shot. unplug and take the top off and remove each connector in turn and replace it on the timer. Bad joints can sometimes cause problems

also some fault codes are not shown to the user and the machine has to be put into engineering mode. I can only give that information to a qualified engineer but it may be available on google and utube etcetera. if you get the fault code we can take it from there

only light above start button is flashing red but I don’t remember is it all the time or not. I will have a look later.

Thank you Dave, I will try to check that fault code once I’m at home.

if its flashing see if its flashing a sequence ie 6 flashes then stop then 6 flashes then stop and repeat
if yes that’s a fault code, let me know

Re: John Lewis Washer Dryer 1612

Light is on all the time.

I managed to get it to service mode, when I get to position C10 I get message EHE, the same was for C11,C12, C13, C14, C15 and C16. When I switch it off and on it displayed ELE I couldn’t do anything so I switch it off and on and it went to service mode again. This time EHE appear just at C5 and C6.
After that I switch it off and on again and it worked fine once. after that it was going in to the same problem as previously – displaying one.

I checked all cables and connections everything looks fine nothing loose. Is it possible it is something wrong with the main board even if it sometimes works without any problems?

Re: John Lewis Washer Dryer 1612

well can see now and it may not be good news

    EHE fault reads
Inconsistency between FCV relay (in the main board) and safety “sensing” circuit

    possible causes are
Faulty wiring; Main circuit board faulty.

fault description is typical lux leaving you going “you what” . Causes of fault listed are not always complete. In practice there can be other causes that bring up various fault codes that are not listed. What I am saying in a round about way is I cannot guarantee if you check wiring and change board it will cure it
