John Lewis washing machine motor not working

I have a john lewis JLWM 1201 machine that I know is actually made by Electrolux model No 91451704400 and the motor has stopped working in any program. It fills and drains OK. The brushes were changed about two years ago and have about 1cm of carbon left and look ok. It also had a new pressure switch about 4 months ago. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Most likely brushes need replacing & armature cleaned. But again not certain as to whats at fault without testing it,check loom & plug connection to motor & board are tight on. Check drum turns o.k by hand & is not jammed.

Thanks for your reply. I cleaned the armature as best I could with the old brushes in place and it then ran for a couple of minutes before stopping again so I think I will try new brushes and clean the armature properly and see if that cures it.

Only clean it with very fine abrasive, like emery paper for instance.
