ParticipantJust got back from a months holiday in the USA and wading through the heap of mail I came across a DASA circular, inviting me to join their ranks for a mere £65.
Seems they get thousands of hits on their website each month, they are working with various manufacturers for tech support and updates. Have got deals to give cheaper vehicle purchasing, insurance, tools, PL insurance etc. They have also negotiated with several government agencies regarding refrigeration legislation, GSR and City & Guilds….wow!
They have already got 70 registered one man band members plus larger organisations, work providers and manufacturers on their books.
Hmmmm?……..how impressive is that?………Oh! There’s also an application form on the back which I only need to sign and send off my £65……..Hmmmmmm…not sure…what do you reckon?
😉

Yes we had one too, I have put it to one side, seems to me to be a ploy to get people in cheap increasing the costs next year ?

Thankfully I haven’t had such a communication so I cannot throw it away. (I speak honestly and forthrightly about things so it wouldn’t be liked by some)
The whole thing mailshot and price slashing seems a tad desperate to me but that’s up to them.
For my two penny worth. the WTA has done more for me and this industry in the past couple of years than DASA has done in its entire existence, so I know where my subs will be going!
And it doesn’t get said very often so I am going to say it now. A big thank you to all the guys and gals looking after and administering the WTA for everything you do.
Regards

How many people turned up for the meeting ?
Ive been told it was only about 29 in total,R/C was asked but in response side stepped and didnt give any real answers and wasnt pushed by DASA to justify their actions..

What’s the rest of it? 😆
Thankyou for that Jackal, posts like that remind us what we’re doing & why!
Anyway, back to DASA, they ‘Failed’ me personally back in 2007, hence me leaving and wanting to find an ‘Alternative’ to DASA. I too have gained much more from the WTA.
For anyone that is not sure who we are (WTA), come along in September to the WTA meeting. Full details will be posted in another thread shortly, but if anyone would like any information on the meeting, or the WTA, feel free to PM or email me.
Adrian 🙂
