K59 Fridge & Fridge Freezer Thermostat issue

I just bought a K59 Fridge & Fridge Freezer Thermostat

Described as a universal fridge thermostat.

I have fitted it in my fridge freezer fridge compartment which I have repaired in the same way before using a universal fridge thermostat.

The fridge now cools to the correct temperature but the issue is that the fridge light only seems to come on sometimes. The light switch does function OK when the light does come on.
What could this issue be caused by?

Hi

The light switch wire has been connected to the compressor terminal. Piggy back it onto the mains wire terminal.
