helo all, my washing machine-hotpoint first edition 1000- keeps blowing(incorrect term no doubt) the trip switch on the consumer unit/fuse box as soon as its switched on.I was wondering if this is a fault common to these machines to a certain component or could it be one of many things? sorry its a bit vague but i dont want the bloke who will come to fix it(WHEN he turns up!) :rolls: giving me a load of rubbish about this and that being wrong with it if its gona be cheaper to buy a new machine
many thanks for any replies
alan
The list whilst not endless could as you say be many things, motor, door lock, heater, wiring, pump etc, etc.
If you do not know a local engineer, try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help. It would be impossible to second guess the cost of a repair for the reasons I have already given you.
thanks for your reply-i should have said its rented property so the repair will be down to landlord anyway but going on previous problems we have had (bit of a slum landlord, they insist on using the same plumber for example whether available or not!) and seeing as its going to be an electrician not an appliance engineer they send i was just trying to see what i could expect
