    OK-D&G DETAILS-
    Make “electronic design”
    mODEL ” 324604 AND CUS”

    Model on front “kELVINATOR” .

    Can’t find handbook at moment – we’re looking .

It’s working ,but motor sounds noisy, and at times we hear a cracking sound. Internally, the rear is wet, something that didn’t happen when new . We’ve got a D & G CONTRACT -should we be looking at getting some one out ?

    Re: kelvinator

    Hi Dave,

Cracking is all too common on some models that use R600a gas and aren’t terribly well built so, normal.

Noisy compressors on Kelvinator are pretty much a given.

Assuming it’s not an air driven fridge (which I doubt as must Kelvinator are budget appliances) the rear wall should freeze then defrost and the water run away through the drain channel at the back. Perfectly normal.

I doubt there’s anything that anyone could do as it all sounds pretty much normal.

Thanks for that – so normal ,as normal for a Kelvinator .Just found the receipt with part no -in case that helps out-

It was a comet job -possibly some of this is Comet part no etc –

Now ,another appeal for help on same model .Other day ,temp in freezer compartment rose to around -4, noticed by ice cream melting ,and no real sound of motor etc working .Tried moving control to max and left overnight .Temp then dropped to circa -20 ,and machine has worked ok since then .Should i be looking to replace ,or is this normal for this model .Never noticed it doing this before in the few years we’ve had it .

    Re: kelvinator

    It’s not normal, no.

Could be any number of things that could cause it.

After this as last post -switched it off ,left it overnight.Switched it back on and since then it’s worked fine .Possibly because daughter gave us their spare ,which is sitting waiting -just in case .
