    I have a Kelvinator KCD 22.10 E GB Fridge Freezer. Its a frost free type and according to the manual uses R 600 a.
    It keeps cool ok but the compressor is constantly running and does not turn off even with the thermostat set at minimum. I have tried changing the thermostat but no change. The compressor is noisy (and is doing my head in) so I suspect it may be goosed. Is it worth getting an Engineer in for this or will he just recommend a new fridge.

    If the compressor is noisy it’s either failing itself or it’s been dmaged by a lack of gas.

    New fridge time in all honesty as you won’t get a compressor changed for less than £150 😉
