Kenwood KSBSX17 American fridge freezer with ice maker in freezer door. Water coming through the dispenser fine, but no ice. No water coming into ice maker. Any ideas? Ice maker been replaced already.

Is it getting down to temperature as, if not, most side by sides will not harvest ice.

Even if it looks to you (and on some displays) it’s getting “frozen” that’s not to say it’s cold enough to let the icemaker work as it should.

Yeah, I get that, but there is no water entering the ice tray. Would the not getting to temperature affect water getting into the tray? I don’t think it’s a problem with the solenoids behind the ice maker, water is still being dispensed. I’m thinking perhaps there’s a break in the wiring somewhere inside the freezer door as is common with Kenwoods. Does that make sense?

If it’s getting down to temp then the valve, if the water supply works, is the next obvious thing to check as it’s usually a dual valve, one for water supply an one for ice. Easily checked for continuity with a meter to see if that’s okay.

    After that, yes, wiring.

Then things get hard if those strike out.

i have a question for you Zadokkodaz, why was the ice maker recently replaced? and did you install it or a white goods engineer?

Thanks for the help guys. The ice maker was recently replaced for the same fault, by an engineer.

In that case i would call the tech company out and say its still not working, if you start working on it and then call them they will only say they cant do anything now as youve worked on it.
