    Hi everyone,

Hope someone could help me out on this.

My Kenwood dishwasher has issue since last night. It’s only about 18 months old and for normal household washing only, so I don’t think it’s due to aging, but assumably programme issue. The model is KDW60W23.
The issue is that most buttons on the panel seem not working, except the [power button] to switch the appliance on/off and [delay-start] button. I can’t change any washing programme and neither start the cycle.
There is no error code shown on the display screen and everything on the screen seems normal. There is no response to any other buttons pressed. The only button works is switching between “1/2 half load” and “normal default ECO programme” by presseing the “delay-start” button. If I press and hold the “delay-start”, it also allows me to activate/deactivate the child lock, but still, I can’t do any other things.
However, this is also strange that as I’d expect the “delay-start” button should activate the timer for delay, rather than changing between 1/2 load and full load. Does this indicate that it could be a potential panel fault with buttons?

How this issue happened was because I mis-pressed some buttons on the panel while loading dishes. I didn’t see the screen when pressed some buttons, but vaguly recalled either “1/2 load” or “delay start” was pressed. When I realised, I wanted to change to the intensive programme and start the cycle, but it doesn’t allow me to do so. I tried to press other buttons as I thought I accidently activated some sort of lock, still had no luck. The only button responds is the “delay start” button to change the screen from “1/2 load for 2h25m” to “normal eco cycle for 3h18m”.

I’ve switched the appliance on/off, unplugged to reset, checked door seal and latch, drain filter, the capsul drawer. Everything seems fine. Can anyone please kindly advise what could be the issue and help me out?

The link on the bottom is a video recorded and saved in my google drive. Sorry I don’t know how to insert the video into the post directly.

Possibly the 1/2 button might be stuck down, or a failed switch (or even water got in the panel)? That could explain why it comes on with 1/2 lit, and child lock being engaged when the delay button is also held down.

Hi mate, I think you are correct here. This explains why the child lock could be activated with one single “delay-start” button, but it’s supposed to be switched on with both bottons at the same time.

If that’s the case, I think I will have to call the technitian to open it up and check the PCB?..
