Hi, would be really grateful for any advice.

I have a Kenwood FP700 food processor which has served me well for years, but hasn’t been used for a while.

The on/off switch now seems to be completely stuck in the 0 position – I can’t move it at all. The bowl and lid are correctly positioned when I try to turn it on.

I’ve unscrewed the top (the platform where the liquidiser sits) to try to see what’s happening, but I can’t work out how to get it off – if I force it, I’ll break it.

If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Re: Kenwood Food Processor Problem

there can be two ways of stopping units like this from turning on for safety reasons

    mechanical
and a mixture of mechanical and electrical

if the switch is jammed then it may well be a mechanical interlock

check again the bowl is locked into place in the correct orientation and the lid is on, again in the correct orientation

I notice that this unit also has a liquidiser output. if the liquidiser bowl is on check that is locked on correctly if not is there a lid to protect the drive output that needs to be locked into place

    Dave
